The showdown is the moment when each player’s hands are revealed. A showdown is not just a show; it is a crucial part of the game, and it is also a matter of poker etiquette. Obviously, it is a big deal to reveal your hand, but revealing it in the wrong order can spoil the whole pot.

In the most basic form, a hand is composed of three of the same rank. For instance, a pocket pair of five and six is a weak hand. However, if a player holds a trip fives and a six, it is a much better hand. Depending on the game, a straight is usually considered the highest possible hand.
